FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need experience or some minimum level of fitness?
No. Our workouts and exercises scale to any level. We have trained clients from seventy four year old grandparents to people with all sorts of weight and physical limitations and they have all done great and so will you. We pride ourselves on our ability to scale the right movements with the right people at the right time to produce measurable results.
I have/had an injury. Is CrossFit still for me?
Members have successfully used CrossFit to rehabilitate from minor injuries. Because we have to move, work, and play in the real world regardless of injuries, learning and understanding proper form, technique is a prudent way to a long-term healthy lifestyle. By understanding and utilizing functional movements, we will slowly build strength in those movements, rather than to avoid them altogether. Our trainers and coaches are always happy to work with you to scale and substitute exercises, to tailor workouts to your abilities. If you have more serious injury we prefer you consult your physician before starting this (or any other) exercise program.
Is it possible to skip the fundamentals program and come to the Workout of the Day (WOD) class, can I do that?
Typically we like everyone to complete our fundamentals program to ensure our athletes safety. Our fundamentals program is also a good way for our coaches to gauge of your movement patterns, athletic ability and discuss your personal needs and goals.
I’m just visiting, but I’m a CrossFitter, can I attend a WOD?
We welcome experienced CrossFitters from all over the world. Please call or email first to set up a class time. When you arrive be sure to let your coach know your level of CrossFit experience and if you have any limitations. If you’re a beginner let us know that as well, yes we’ll still let you work out. We have a $20 drop in charge. See our Drop-In Policy.
What if I don’t want to join CrossFit Stealth but would prefer to strictly work with one of your trainers one-on-one?
You are more than welcome to do so. You can read about our staff on our “Team” page and email us for more info on how to be matched up with a caoch. Our rates vary from coach to coach and there are discounts available for those looking for longer-term agreements.
Can I sign up for a membership online through your website?
Yes you can. However, please be sure not to sign up for membership until you have successfully completed our fundamentals program, we will gladly sign you up for a membership after that.
Can I just come to CrossFit Stealth and work out on my own?
No. We offer classes and one-on-one sessions, where people work out under coaches’ supervision, as it yields better, safer, and faster results than having people simply use the facility alone.
Is this for me?
Absolutely! Your needs and the Olympic athlete’s differ by degree not kind. Increased power, strength, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, agility, balance, and coordination are each important to the world’s best athletes and to our grandparents. The amazing truth is that the very same methods that elicit optimal response in the Olympic or professional athlete will optimize the same response in the elderly. Of course, we can’t load your grandmother with the same squatting weight that we’d assign an Olympic skier, but they both need to squat. In fact, squatting is essential to maintaining functional independence and improving fitness. Squatting is just one example of a movement that is universally valuable and essential yet rarely taught to any but the most advanced of athletes. This is a tragedy. Through painstakingly thorough coaching and incremental load assignment CrossFit has been able to teach anyone who can care for themselves to perform safely and with maximum efficacy the same movements typically utilized by professional coaches in elite and certainly exclusive environments.
